...The Chaff He Will Burn With Unquenchable Fire

Below is a photograph that I took just outside of my school after the Korean rice harvest was over. They separated the rice grains from the stalks by beating them with winnowing sticks. After a few days of drying on the ground, the chaff was gathered into bundles. The bundles will later be destroyed or consumed. Scripture came to mind that reminded me of the dire position my lost students are in.

  1. It is very interesting that you can come up with a scripture right away just by staring at something! I wish I had those abilities.. However the scripture is kind of hard to understand.. Explanation please??

  2. I couldn't understand the scripture right away, so I searched for some explanations. I noticed that this verse, Luke 3:17, is desciption of howJesus is more powerful and greater than John the Baptist. It's really amazing that we can find how powerful our Lord is through anything, including this chaff. I think I'll remember this verse whenever I see the chaff.
